PHILADELPHIA, January 6, 2025 — FS Investments, an $82 billion global alternative asset manager, today announced Scott Stimpfel will join the firm in January as Head of Human Resources. Dr. Stimpfel will serve on the firm’s Executive Committee and report into Lisa Opoku, Chief Operating Officer. His responsibilities include oversight of FS Investments’ global Human Resources efforts, including learning and development, recruiting, benefits and early talent programs.

Dr. Stimpfel most recently spent eight years at Citibank (Citi) in various Human Resources leadership roles, including the global head of Human Resources for Citi’s Client organization and global head of Learning & Development for Citi’s Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory businesses. Prior to joining Citi, he was an Assistant Dean and Associate Dean at New York University (NYU), and he taught in NYU Stern’s Business & Society program. Dr. Stimpfel sits on the Kingsborough Community College Foundation Board and is committed to working with organizations that empower underserved community college students. He attended Pasadena City College and graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Business Administration. He earned an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and a Doctor of Education from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education.
